Mother Hubbard's Cupboard is in need of someone to take over the
leadership role of the food pantry. Ladonna Howard, the current
director, has done a wonderful job, but is needing to give up the
position. This is her last week.
The duties involved with this volunteer position are: scheduling workers
and record keeping. Computer skills are not necessary.
If you would like more information, call Bill Felts at 232-3126 or the
District Office at 1-800-919-8168.
Unless a director is found this week, Mother Hubbard's Cupboard will be
forced to close next Monday and will remain closed until a new director
is found.
Please pass this information on to those who may be interested.
Thanks, Michelle O'Hare |

Thank you for your continued support of our work at the 14th &
Chestnut Center. Your generosity through the holidays has been
heart-warming. We look forward to an exciting year with the families
we minister to on a daily basis. Currently, we have the following
needs and if you are able to assist with any of them, please contact
Stacie at the Center (232-3126).
Ways in which you can help the 14th & Chestnut Community Center. Our
"Needs List" for March 2003
Prayer Concerns:
--Provision for this ministry
-Protection and safety of the children in this neighborhood
-God's saving message to penetrate the children's hearts
-Dedicated volunteers to assist us daily
Financial Donations for:
-Churches or individuals to sponsor our (6) Summer Missionaries
to work with our children. We anticipate hiring (6) college-aged
students with a heart for ministry and missions to assist us. The
approximate cost to sponsor a Summer Missionary will be in the range
of $2000. Please call Stacie at the Center (232-3126) if you need
additional information. This is urgent so that the Summer Program's
staff will be trained and in place for our June 9th Kick-Off.
Game Room Needs for Our Middle School Children:
Ping Pong Table, Air Hockey Table, Nintendo-type video games
-Sponsors for the 5th Grade and Older Students to participate in a
Ropes Course at the FCA Conference Center when travel there this
summer. Approximate
Cost: $10.00 per child for approximately 20 children.
-Craft Packs-Individuals or Classes to assemble craft projects with
all of the necessary supplies for about 15 children. We need these
for all age groups and ask that you staple the instructions for the
craft to the sack with supplies.
Volunteers Needed:
--Professionals willing to come and share about their career on
Tuesdays form 4:00-5:00 pm at the center.
-Volunteers to come in once or twice monthly to chaperone field
trips.
-Volunteers to commit to one day per week to assist with chaperoning
children to their various activities.
-Clerical assistance if often times needed for mailings, etc.
-We have (5-6) children's rooms in need of painting. We would like
for Sunday School classes or Men's Groups to consider this
opportunity to serve on a Saturday.
-Volunteer to learn about and serve in the Clothes Encounter
ministry. At least two days per week are needed. Sorting, sizing,
and distributing clothing to the children are the duties involved.
Food Donations for Grumbling Tummies café:

bars, bread (white), beef broth, canned biscuits, canned ravioli,

Wal-Mart, etc. are needed to purchase meat, eggs, fresh fruit and
